Have you read the Gettransport blog about Apple's logistics?
I'm reading an article on the Gettransport blog about Apple's supply chain, and I'm impressed by how well-designed it seems: real-time data, demand forecasting, dual suppliers, audits, quality control, and even environmental KPIs. Personally, I don't fully understand how Apple logistics work. On the one hand, it looks like a model of modern management where everything is calculated in advance. On the other hand, it gives the impression of overly strict control over partners. Is it about efficiency, or is it simply the power of a large corporation? How does it look through the eyes of people in operations and production? Has anyone here read this article?

Hello. The truth lies somewhere in the middle. Apple is very strict, but without that level of strictness, they would not be able to operate on such a large scale. As an operations manager, I can say with confidence that without such strictness, Apple would not have achieved this level of success. The article clearly shows that their control is based on data, risks, and planning rather than pressure for the sake of pressure. Partners accept this because the system provides stable orders.
