eld.gg Path of Exile 2 Currency: Damage Conversion

Damage Conversion (If Applicable)

If you have modifiers like:

“10% of Physical Damage taken as Path of Exile 2 Currency Cold”

“15% of Fire Damage taken as Chaos”

Conversion applies before mitigation.

Example: If a hit deals 1000 Physical Damage, and you convert 50% to Fire, then only 500 is considered Physical for armor, and 500 is treated as Fire for elemental mitigation.

Step 5: Resistance & Armour Mitigation

Resistances (Fire, Cold, Lightning, Chaos) are applied:

Fire hit × (1 - Fire Resistance %)

Chaos bypasses most layers, unless explicitly reduced.

Armour mitigates physical damage, based on a curve:

Better against small hits, worse against large ones.

Energy Shield, Ward, and other life-buffering mechanics kick in later.

Step 6: Fortify & Damage Reduction Buffs

Fortify, Endurance Charges, Pantheon Effects, and conditional reduction like:

“10% less damage taken while stationary”

“5% reduced damage from Critical Strikes”

These are multiplicative and applied after resistances.

This step helps reduce what's left over after cheap POE2 Currency the initial mitigation layers.
